DonationBar, why so complicated?
#1
I went to paypal today and I saw this tool that allows you to make a donation button and people can click it and donate to you. But when I completed the settings (it allowed me to add lists of prices, etc etc) it was like 10 lines of code to copy/paste into my index page. My question is: Why are paypal plugins like DonationBar and MySubscriptions so many files and so much code? Paypal offers buttons like donate, subscribe, buy, etc etc and they're like 10 lines of code and I'm wondering why the plugins for mybb are so long.

Because PayPal does not allow you to setup goals, neither show the progress of the goal, set who can contribute, view previous goals, etc. Neither allows you to put someone in a usergroup when someone subscribes to a service.

PayPal offers the buttons but as you can see on those plugins, they're not just the buttons.

Ah I see now, thanks for the information. So the whole code isn't about paypal's donate/subscribe workings but its about the actual plugins stuff like setting/editing goals and whatnot right?
