How to upload new plugins

I can install and activate plugins that are already on the admin CP.
I've downloaded the plugin I wanted (NewPoints)
It came in a folder but I don't know how to upload it to my site?

"Simply upload the contents of the "Upload" folder to the root of your MyBB installation.

Then, activate NewPoints from the Administrator Panel and chmod the backups directory (admin/backups/backupnewpoints).

If you want to activate weekly backups, just enable the "Backup NewPoints" task."

^ Can not find an Upload folder, and what root? Please explain.

When you download the ZIP it contains a folder named "Upload". The root of your MyBB installation is where your inc, images, uploads, index.php etc can be found.

It's being hosted on icyboards. If that helps. It's confusing :/ I'd just like to know where to click to add new plugins

Did you read the link I posted? It tells you how to upload and install a plugin..
